چکیده

The framework of an automated vision system for monitoring quality control is presented where detection of various forms of defects is achieved by combining distributed artificial intelligence and image processing. A distributed blackboard architecture manages the processing of image data via an area of shared memory where the current understanding of the problem evolves. Registration into a common co-ordinate system and segmentation of reference and sensed images is performed in a multi-resolution fashion by intelligent agents that work in parallel and communicate with each other by means of the blackboard. Pixel-level fusion is then performed on registered images in order to exploit complementary and redundant data, allowing identification of suspected defects.

Constructing agents blackboard communication architecture based on graph theory

In the agent blackboard communication architecture, agents do not interact with each other directly but through blackboard. The blackboard architecture includes central blackboard architecture and distributed one. In blackboard communication architecture, the location of central blackboard (or distributed sub-blackboards) and communication topology among subblackboards are two important issues ...

On the Synthesis of Distributed Synchronous Processes ?

We propose an architecture for distributed control systems of synchronous components. The architecture is based on blackboards as an abstraction of shared memory. We propose to synthesise global control from indepently developed components using the blackboard architecture. An implementation of the architecture is sketched using the synchronous object-oriented language sE. A tentative strategy ...

Automated Visual Inspection of Road Surface Cracks

Pavement maintenance requires knowing the state of the road surface. Human inspection is the most common method for evaluating this state. Recently, the automated visual inspection has been addressed, but some important questions remain open concerning the variable ambient lighting, shadows, device synchronisation and the large amount of data. In the present paper, an automated visual inspectio...

Is It Reasonable to Employ Agents in Automated Theorem Proving?

Agent architectures and parallelization are, with a few exceptions, rarely to encounter in traditional automated theorem proving systems. This situation is motivating our ongoing work in the higher-order theorem prover Leo-III . In contrast to its predecessor – the well established prover LEO-II – and most other modern provers, Leo-III is designed from the very beginning for concurrent proof se...

On the Optimal Choose of Architecture for a Low Cost Automated Visual Inspection Module in Industrial Applications

Automatic visual inspection is one of the primary applications of computer vision. Machine vision inspection requires efficient processing time and accurate results. In order to achieve efficiency and accuracy with a reasonable cost , it is important to choose the right architecture of the system. The paper presents the choices and a concrete architecture of a module ,with some aspects regarding...
